Marni for H&M

Yes, again H&M collaboration news!

Marni for H&M, spring collection!
Consuelo Castiglioni is the founder and designer of the Italian label, Marni.
The spring collection by Marni is available on March 8th, in stores and online.
For more information, check the video on youtube.

"I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," Castiglioni said. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements."

There will be menswear and womenswear, made with all the elements that the Marni mainline has become famous for, from vivid colours to all-over prints. Highlights from the women's collection will include full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knits, in fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton.

"We all love the collection here at H&M and we believe that our customers will too," H&M's Margareta van den Bosch said. "Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It's fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of print and colour, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece. The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time, as a lovely statement for spring."

Trollbeads

I love Trollbeads!

Some information about Trollbeads:

"Danish Trollbeads is the original and authentic brand of collectable charm bead jewellery, featuring an extensive dynamic range of quality, highly individual beads in over 400 intricate designs. Developed over the past 30 years by Danish design company, Lise Aagaard Copenhagen, Trollbeads has become a worldwide phenomenon, offering limitless opportunities for collectors.
1936 Goldsmith, Svend Nielsen starts his own business in Copenhagen, becoming one of the five first goldsmiths in Denmark to adopt the American technique of centrifugal casting, the technique which gave birth to Trollbeads.
1976 Svend’s son, Soren, a silversmith, creates the first silver cast beads to be strung on a leather necklace. Known as Trollpearls, these beads are named after the troll faces depicted on the very first bead.
1987 Lise Aagaard, Svend’s daughter, opens her own jewellery store in Copenhagen and launches the concept of Trollbeads as a collection of individually designed bead jewellery.
Inspired by the response and enthusiasm of her customers, she introduces names and stories for each bead, creating additional fun, new gold and silver beads to expand the range.
1997 Lise begins working with glass and introduces vibrant, creative and colourful additions to the Trollbeads gold and silver collections.
1999 With her brother, engineer, Per Nielsen, Lise develops a silver lining for the hole through the glass beads, enabling customers to add a whole of spectrum of colour to their bracelets and necklaces. The silver lined coloured glass beads featuring miniature decorations give impetus to exports.
2000 Trollbeads are sold throughout Scandinavia. Lise expands the business and involves ten well-known Danish jewellery designers in the development of Trollbeads.
2003 Initial exports of Trollbeads to the USA.
2004 Trollbeads distributors are appointed in the Netherlands, UK and Germany.
2005 Fable Trading, UK distributor, launches Trollbeads in the UK at the September IJL, International Jewellery London, introducing the concept and initiating the phenomenon of collectable, individually designed beads.
2008 Fable Trading introduces Trollbeads into Ireland and moves offices, expanding its operation to accommodate 17 employees.
2010 Fable Trading is now well established with a closely knit team, dedicated to supporting independent family run retail jewellers throughout the UK and Ireland."

Pssst, Rumour Has It!

Tom Ford for H&M?

Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s Creative Advisor and the woman responsible for ushering in the era of high street designer collaborations, is—like-everyone-else—obsessed with Tom Ford.
Though the Versace for H&M collection doesn’t even hit stores until last weekend, van den Bosch has already told Business Week that they’d love to make Ford their next luxury collaborator.  Ford is “a very interesting name,” she said.  “I can say, I wouldn’t mind.”
I guess no one would mind, except for Ford. The designer’s only just begun to build his own post-Gucci empire, launching his women’s collection and then cosmetics.  Unlike Versace or Lanvin he doesn’t have archives to pull from, or even a signature aesthetic (other than sexy).  No one from team Ford will comment, and van den Bosch says they’ve yet to speak with the designer.
